Highland Main Street Revitalization Committee The Highland Main Street Revitalization Committee was established to develop a strategy to preserve and enhance the downtown character, to revitalize the downtown economy and to plan for and support the long term success of the downtown – the Hamlet of Highland. The committee is to analyze community assets, strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats to determine an implementation strategy. The committee will consider community needs, signage standards, sidewalk and streetscape improvements, façade improvements and any other elements they determine necessary to develop and implement a main street rev italization strategy. The work of this committee will be used as a basis for a New York Main Street Program grant opportunity for the targeted Hamlet of Highland area due in April 2009 for façade renovations, interior residential building upgrades and streetscape enhancements.
