PRESS RELEASE 7.10.07: TRANSFER STATION- TOWN OF LLOYD
The Town of Lloyd Transfer Station will no longer be accepting construction and demolition debris. It will be directed to the Ulster County Resource Recovery Center located off of Route 32 North in New Paltz. All household garbage deposited at the Town of Lloyd Transfer Station must be placed in tied plastic bags. Loose garbage will be measured and charged by the cubic yard.

YEARLY: Facility Permit Fees

DUMPING FEES: 33 gal container/bag 30 lb. Max $3.00
  1 cu. Yard loose trash $30.00
  1 cu. Yard Roofing $60.00
  1 cu. Yard construction/demolition $55.00
PER ITEM CHARGES
(in lieu of dumping fees):
Appliances/Misc. $3.00-$35.00 each
  Brush $5.00 pick up truck load
  Floor Covering $10.00 typical 9’ x 12’
  Mattresses or Springs $5.00 single (each piece)

TRUCK LOADS – full pick ups & larger are directed to the
Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency (UCRRA) Transfer Station on Clearwater Road in New Paltz    845-255-6358.

Payment by check only.
Please call Transfer Station or Town Clerk’s office for other fee information.

Dumping fees are used for the recycling and transfer operations.
The hours of operation and fees charged are calculated to make the transfer station self supporting.


Material Accepted at the recycling center:

Item NEWSPRINT: Newspapers & Inserts.
Exclude:   Magazines, telephone books, bound books, waste mail, brown bags, cardboard and paper contaminated by food or other materials. 
How To:    Must be tied with twine or string. Do not use plastic, tape or wire.

Item METAL CANS: Food and beverage cans, including tin and aluminum foil.
Exclude:  pots, pans, flatware, hangers, molded aluminum tins and cans with residual food.
How To: Rinse clean, flatten if possible and remove paper labels.

Item GLASS: Clear, green and brown food and drink containers.
Exclude: Ceramics, leaded & specialty glass; i.e., tableware, china, pottery, Pyrex, light bulbs, auto window, broken glass, white,blue & other colors.
How To: Discard lids and tops (recycle metal lids with metal cans). Rinse clean and separate by color.

Item CARDBOARD: Brown boxes separators, gray-board (cereal, pizza and tissue boxes) and folded brown paper bags.
Exclude:  Waxed or wet cardboard; also exclude items soiled with food, dirt, oil, or other contamination.
How To: Remove inserts and flatten.

Item LEAVES And GRASS: All containers, bags, brush and wood.
How To: Place in designated area.

Item PLASTIC BOTTLES & JUGS: Plastic container with a neck.
Exclude:  Lids, wide mouth containers (butter and yogurt tubs), bags, styrofoam, chemical and motor oil containers.
TUPPERWARE and RUBBERMAID items.
How To: Remove and discard lids. Empty, rinse, drip dry and flatten if possible

Item WASTE MAIL/MAGAZINES: Catalogs, brochures, envelopes and miscellaneous school & office paper and phonebooks (white or yellow pages)
Exclude: Plastic, wrappings or packaging, newspaper, cardboard, brown bags, carbon paper, blueprints, books with covers, and personal tissue.
How To: Place in designated area, loose or tied.

Item WOOD WASTE: Brush and limbs.
Exclude: Stumps and all other wood. Nothing over 6’ x 6”
How To: Separate clean wood material and place in designated area.

Item SCRAP METAL: Snow blowers & lawn mowers must be clean of gas and oil. Fuel tanks must be clean of fuel and cut in half. Propane cooking grill tanks must be empty. Auto body parts – no bigger than a car fender - Metal window frames with glass removed.

Item ALUMINUM SCRAP: Sliding doors, windows, lawn furniture, pots & pans. Aluminum lawn chairs, no backing or webbing, aluminum siding.

Item APPLIANCES: All appliances (refrigerator, air conditioner) that use Freon, must have a CERTIFICATE OF REMOVAL, or there is a $25 per unit charge for the Town of Lloyd to remove and recycle the Freon and the appliance.

NO UNITS ACCEPTED WITH DAMAGED FREON LINES WITHOUT CERTIFICATE OF REMOVAL ATTACHED.

Item BATTERIES: All auto.
Exclude: None
