SUPERVISOR'S 4TH QUARTER UPDATE

SUPERVISOR’S FOURTH QUARTER 2023 UPDATE

I’d like to start off by wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy New Year!

There were a number of events this quarter: Beautification Committee’s Scarecrow Event, October 7th.  So many of you came out to create your personalized scarecrows at Tony Williams Park that were placed around the hamlet just in time for Halloween in the Hamlet, Saturday, October 28th, which was one of the best attended events by the Events Committee.  December brought another program by the Beautification Committee held at Lloyd Rod and Gun Club, “Build Your Own Snow Person”.  Families were able to create and decorate their snow person and they became part of the holiday decorations in town.  Then came the Town’s big finale from the Events Committee’s “Light Up the Hamlet”.  Santa arrived via Highland Fire District’s firetrucks where he flipped the switch and lit up the Hamlet!  There were pictures with Santa and special guest Mrs. Claus! And don’t forget The Grinch, there was so much holiday cheer his heart grew 3 times in size that night!

The Highland Business Association along with the Beautification Committee held the Decorate Highland Contest.  Thank you to all the businesses for your outstanding decorations and holiday spirit.  The winner of the Decorate Highland Contest went to Hair Craft Salon.  Owner Shelly Collins was presented with a trophy at the 12/20 Town Board Meeting.

All our committees continue to impress so a big thank you to our committee members and volunteers.
